Have you ever come across a band when, after the moment you listened to them, you wondered how big the rock you were living under was? That's precisely how I felt when I heard Copeland for the first time.
Their sound is completely unique. When you listen to the album, you'll notice a slight reverberation in the sound, as though the tracks were recorded in the '70s. It gradually dawned on me that the sound was intended that way.
The reverb enhances the mellow sounds and easy melodies of this group, while serving as a thoughtful backdrop for their insightful lyrics. Every song on this album is about motion – never giving up on yourself, in what you believe in, or on love. Those ideas might seem a bit trite, but when sung so honestly and with such production, you feel as though you're singing those words.
