about the author
I’m currently 25, still female, and will always be a New Yorker (if not physically then metaphysically). I am another over-educated member of my generation with a bachelor’s in engineering and a future master’s in public health. Yeah, you read that right.
My musical history is pretty odd. My formative years were spent listening to church hymns, ‘oldies,’ and Lite FM. I spent about 3 of those years attempting to learn how to play the piano but quickly discovered I was better suited as a listener. During this time there were interspersed doses of the MTV movement but I only started paying attention to pop music in 1997. From then, I gained an appreciation for the well-made pop, classic rock, metal, contemporary Christian, and even rap song. Because my musical tastes cross over genres, I prefer to call myself a lover of the honest lyric and the catchy melody, and that’s what I try to convey in my reviews. Of course, I’m only human so my reviews will be biased in some way, but I consider my work done if I can catch your attention for just one minute.
