Supernatural

Honestly, are you THAT surprised that this post exists?

Kripke et al. threw another wrench into the works, so I need to chew this over some. Spoilers under cut, obviously.

So, it turns out Dean’s the chosen vessel for the angel Michael. Uhm, I’m sorry but that bit doesn’t surprise me a bit. What did surprise me about Dean was what we learned last season – he’s a righteous man.

The reason for my surprise is based on Christianity (uhm, this is the Protestant version as opposed to the Roman Catholic or Othodox versions), where a righteous man is a man with faith in God. Read the books of Romans, I & II Corinthians, and basically any of Paul’s letters and you’ll see that he stresses righteousness as the product of faith in God. Now, I’ve never considered Dean as ‘faithful’ to anything or anyone, and I don’t think he’s ever been portrayed as faithful. Or was that a subtle hint that he is faithful in God, even if it’s only subconscious?

So yeah, the righteousness surprised me more than the “vessel of Michael.” And throughout the episode, I was 100% convinced that Sam is the vessel of Lucifer. In the beginning of ep where they show what happened last season, you see Sam’s eyes go demon-black as Lucifer breaks out. I swear, I saw it, and if I’m dreaming it up please let me know, because I’m still convinced that Lucifer is currently within Sam. JUST DON’T GIVE ME SPOILERS FOR FUTURE EPISODES IF IT’S TRUE.

And, finally, the crazy fan who’s writing fanfiction and the owner of MoreThanBrothers.net was BRILLIANT. I was eating breakfast while watching the episode on Friday morning and nearly got milk all over poor Taylor (the laptop). It was momentarily scary there for a minute. I also adore the fact that she didn’t care about Jensen/Dean at all and was all over Jared/Sam. And she actually mentioned that she enjoyed the addition of angels to the “mythology!” OMG Kripke, brilliant, just brilliant.

Yay Meg! Yay Chuck! YAY CASTIEL! And poor Sam & Dean – I really don’t think Dean’s going to get over this betrayal.

I’M SO GLAD THE SHOW IS BACK.
